River Rock Kitchen

Early on in his life, Timothy was driven to the kitchen. He was inspired by the thought of people gathered together around a table immersed in conversation, enjoying each other’s company and best of all, the nourishment of a meal.  The eldest of three children and being raised by a single parent, Tim felt that it was his responsibility to prepare dinner. That passion has been embedded ever since. After graduating from the culinary program at Delaware Technical Community College and working in the industry for many years, Timothy feels more confident and passionate than ever to have found the right career path.

His professional career started in the kitchen at the young age of 13. He worked as dishwasher at a restaurant in his neighborhood. It was then when he realized that the culinary field will most likely be his life long career and passion. After immersing himself into the kitchen culture he began to gain the skills that would lead him through his career. He has worked at the DuPont Country Club and the Hotel DuPont’s Green room, one of the places where he really was able to expand his knowledge of food and understood the larger picture of the culinary world.

He was hired for his first lead kitchen position as the Sous chef when Buckley’s Tavern in Greenville, Delaware re-opened. After two years with Buckley’s, Timothy began to work for Harry’s Hospitality Group at their Naamans Road location. Shortly after, he took over as their Chef de Cuisine at Harry’s Seafood on the Wilmington riverfront. Thanks to amazing chefs like David Banks, Xavier Teixido, and the Management Group of Harry’s Hospitality, Timothy was able to comprehensive a wealth of knowledge.

He was drawn to the Westin and the River Rock Kitchen because of their “farm to table” inspired kitchen. Some of his goals are to work closely with local farmers and foragers, to strengthen relationships within the community by educating people about food and nutrients, and to drive his love for life and food even further.

In his life outside from the kitchen, Timothy enjoys to be a hands-on father and loves to spend most of his free time with his son and three nephews, infusing them with his love for food.
